Now that football is done at Razorback Stadium it’s time to start the expansion process. The first step of that is demolition and they have already made some progress on taking down the current Broyles Center. The project isn’t expected to be completed until the start of the 2018 season so next year Razorback Stadium might look a little strange with construction underway.
Frank Ragnow wasn’t named All-SEC earlier this week, it wasn’t the biggest snub in the world because the conference has a ton of good linemen, but he still deserves some recognition. He got some from Pro Football Focus when he was named to their All-American Team. They certainly loved his performance against Florida as part of the reason of including him on the team.
There is no secret that the SEC was down this year and a big part of that was the amount of turnover most teams had in quarterback play. ESPN is breaking down the future of the position for the SEC West here, and the future looks brighter for most teams, including Arkansas. Brandon Allen made a big leap in his second year as a starter, so it makes sense to think Austin will make another step forward.
There still is the Belk Bowl this season, but more attention can be turned to recruiting for next year. Recruiting, as is anything involving 17 and 18-year-olds, can be very unpredictable but here is a list of what the upcoming class might look like. Now if this does end up being the Class of 2017 for Arkansas, using 247Sports’ class calculator it gets a score of 203.90, a slightly lower score from last class, but still in the range of a Top-25 class.
We’ve already recapped the basketball win over Houston, but one of the more interesting notes was Dusty Hannahs coming off the bench in the Hogs’ win. Hannahs was scoring well to start the season, but it was mostly coming from drives, his three point shooting has been cold. Since he started coming off the bench, it has improved, so it will be interesting to see what Mike Anderson does with the starting lineup in the last few games before conference play starts.
