Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw was expected to be out for the season after injuring his foot against Alabama in October, but with the Belk Bowl just a few days away and Bret Bielema already making the media rounds in Charlotte, it sounds like Greenlaw has recovered enough to get back on the field in some capacity.
So it looks like he’ll be on the field, but we don’t know if he’ll start at linebacker or if he’ll only be used for a certain number of snaps or only in certain situations, but it looks as though he will play.
If Greenlaw is close to 100%, it would obviously be big for Arkansas. We all know about how atrocious the Razorback defense performed this year, especially after Greenlaw went down. He was leading Arkansas in tackles on the season when he was injured.
Also, we learned that Arkansas offensive lineman Johnny Gibson got a pretty nice Christmas present when he was put on scholarship at Arkansas. He started for the Razorbacks at right guard in the Florida game after asking Bret Bielema for a chance, and Gibson took full advantage, keeping the starting spot the rest of the season. Gibson is a sophomore from Dumas, Arkansas. Very cool story.
The feeling right now of being a scholarship athlete at my dream school is just unreal.— Johnny Gibson (@jlee5614) December 25, 2016
