The Razorback basketball team has struggled somewhat frequently in Verizon Arena in recent years, but there were no such issues this year.
Arkansas led throughout. Daryl Macon hit a three for the game’s first points, and the Hogs would lead by double digits at halftime before cruising to their second-largest margin of victory for the season.
This game was not televised nor streamed, but all indications appear to be that the game was a classic blowout. The Razorbacks shot 50% from the field compared to Sam Houston State’s 30.7%, and still managed to get to the free throw line at a pretty crazy rate, shooting 40 freebies compared to their 13.
This was probably Moses Kingsley’s best game of the season. He scored 17 points in 23 minutes. No one on the team played for more than 23 minutes. All the deepest bench players got to see the court.
Macon, a Little Rock native, also scored 17 points in 23 minutes. Anton Beard, also from Little Rock, continued his tremendous bounce-back season with 16 points in 18 minutes. Jaylen Barford also scored 11 points.
Sam Houston State actually has a top 100 RPI at the moment, so this was a pretty good win for the Hogs. It’s Arkansas’ fourth top 100 win of the season heading into conference play.
