Bret Bielema got the attention of the media when he said he was thinking about installing a 3-4 defense next season. Here is what that might look like for 2017, and on the surface it makes sense from a personnel perspective. Players like McTelvin Agim, Bijhon Jackson and Randey Ramsey could all fit better and thrive in this system as opposed to the traditional 4-3 that really didn’t get a whole lot done this year.
For the past 5 years or so, the SEC West has been miles ahead of the Eastern division, and this year the East was especially bad. Matt Hinton of Saturday Down South plays around with the idea of scrapping the division format and how that would effect scheduling. The pros include getting to play every SEC school at least twice in a 4 year span. The negatives include the possibilities of championship rematches in consecutive weeks.
