No excuses. No “yeah, buts...”. This was the worst game of Bret Bielema’s tenure at Arkansas, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time for him, or for the program. All credit where it’s due, the Missouri Tigers played a great second half and outcoached/outplayed the Arkansas Razorbacks to get a senior day win.
But let’s be real. Missouri is a crappy team that Arkansas should have rolled. It certainly looked like the Hogs would take care of business in the first half, but they put one one of the worst second half performances I can remember as a Hog fan. And it’s unacceptable, honestly.
Two seasons in a row that the Hogs offense was unable to score in a second half against a team they should have hung 40 on. And for the first time in Bret’s time in NWA, the Hogs have regressed in the wins/loss column. Whatever bowl the Hogs get, they desperately need to win. An 8 win season is acceptable as the floor for a coach in the SEC west in his 4th season. A 7 win season is not.
