Notes

Paging NovemB(redacted). Of all of the SEC teams that the Bielema version of the Razorbacks have beaten at Arkansas, I had completely overlooked the fact that he hasn’t beaten the Mississippi State Bulldogs. While Dak is now torturing defenses in the NFL, Dan Mullen has found another dual threat QB to run his Bulldog offense. Sophomore Nick Fitzgerald does several of the things well that this Razorback Defense has struggled with over the past two seasons. He threw for 209 yards and 2 TDs and ran for another 182 yards and 2 more TDs in the upset win over Texas A&M two weeks ago. Containing the mobile Bulldog QB will be priority one for the Hog defense on Saturday if they hope to leave StarkVegas with Bielema’s first win over the Bulldogs. The good news? Miss State is 84th in defense giving up 157 yards rushing and 277 yards passing per game. Best guess, both teams are going to do some scoring, Austin and Co. will have to do more of it on the road than they have thus-far this season. While they won’t have the bye week to do it, I liked the way that this Arkansas team bounced back from an embarrassing loss against Auburn to play one of their best games against Florida. I’m going to pick them to do the same this week coming off of the LSU loss. I’ll take the Hogs 38-34.
