Going Ham Podcast: Can Arkansas Geaux the Distance?

LSU comes to town as the Hogs face an odd opponent.

NCAA Football: Florida at Arkansas Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Arkansas Razorbacks host the LSU Tigers in their final home game of the season tonight, and it’s also likely to be the final ranked opponent for the Hogs until the bowl game. The LSU Tigers have had an odd season to say the least, but have turned the jets on lately.

Les Miles was fired after an ugly Auburn game. Interim coach Ed Orgeron has gone 3-1 as a head coach, with his only loss coming to Alabama. The Tigers game vs Florida was postponed, so the only ranked team LSU has faced under Coach O has been a loss.

LSU’s final stretch of games are going to be tough, and it will make or break Coach O’s time at LSU. But these last 3 SEC for Arkansas are equally important for Bret Bielema. If the Hogs win out, they’ll have a shot at a 10 win season, something no one expected coming into the season. Also, if Arkansas wants to continue their streak of increasing wins year over year, a win over LSU would set Arkansas up well for that.

Both teams have a LOT on the line in this game. Oh, and there’s also that big ass trophy! This should be a good game, but all three of us picked the Hogs to win.
