Teams don’t normally move up in the polls for beating bad FCS teams like Alcorn State, but thanks to schools like Michigan State, Florida State, Georgia and San Diego State all faltering on Saturday, the the Razorbacks moved up a few spots in both polls - to #16 in the AP Poll and #17 in the Coaches Poll.
So, as we always like to do, let’s see who’s hating Arkansas this week!
This week, there were two voters haters who did not include the Razorbacks in their ballots. They are Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald and Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Shame!
Arkansas’ best good friend continues to be Jon Wilner from the San Jose Mercury News, who voted the Hogs 10th. The next best votes for Arkansas were 13th. Our local voter, Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, voted the Hogs 15th.
This puts Arkansas basically back around where they were before the Texas A&M loss and sets up a legit top 20 showdown in Fayetteville on Saturday against Alabama, who is still ranked #1 in both polls. It will be Arkansas’ first game against a #1 team since the 2014 Mississippi State game. The Hogs last beat a #1 team in the famous 2007 LSU “Got That Wood” game.
