College Football Top 25 Polls: Arkansas Ranked 17th After Ole Miss Victory

The Razorbacks are back in the top 20!

NCAA Football: Mississippi at Arkansas Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Arkansas was at risk of falling out of the polls with a loss to Ole Miss, but as we all joyfully know, the Razorbacks knocked off the Rebels for the third straight year and in the latest polls are ranked 17th.

There are actually 8 SEC teams in polls, and the Hogs are fourth among them. LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, and Ole Miss are behind the Razorbacks while Alabama, Texas A&M, and Florida are all rated higher.

As we like to do, let’s break down the AP Poll votes. Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News continues to be the Razorbacks’ biggest advocate, as he has been most of the year. Wilner ranked the Hogs 9th.

On the flip side, Arkansas was ranked on all ballots but one. Who is this week’s hater? That would be Jonny Miller of WBZ Newsradio 930 in Boston. He is the only voter who kept Arkansas off his ballot. You might be wondering what a radio guy in Boston is doing voting in this poll, and I don’t have a good answer for you. Of note, he only ranked four of the SEC teams: Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, and Tennessee.

Our local voter, Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, ranked Arkansas 15th. Pretty solid.
