CBS waited until today’s games were finished to make their pick for October 8th, but following Tennessee’s stunning last second Hail Mary victory over Georgia, the Vols remain undefeated and CBS appropriately selected the Texas A&M vs Tennessee game next week, leaving Arkansas vs Alabama for ESPN and a 6:00 prime time kickoff.
Arkansas had been considered a potential host for ESPN’s College GameDay that day as well, but you have to think the top ten battle between undefeateds in College Station is more appealing, even if they already have been to two Tennessee games already.
There’s just something special about big games at night. You’ll remember that two years ago, Arkansas played Alabama at night and came excruciatingly close to pulling off the upset against the Tide. It was one of the performances that signaled Bielema’s program was on the right track even though the wins weren’t there quite yet. The Razorbacks have won quite a few since then, however.
