This is something of a surprise, as many seemed to believe that Ted Kapita would likely make his way to Fayetteville once he qualified at his prep academy. But, as per usual when a signee fails to initially make it to campus, Kapita will apparently never be a Razorback as he's reportedly signed a professional deal with a team in France.
Kapita was the 4*, consensus top-100 6'8" forward who committed to Arkansas early this year, and was hoped to immediately fill a void in Arkansas' frontcourt. However, injury and eligibility concerns always surrounded him, and eventually he committed to the SPIRE Academy for prep school after he failed to qualify to enroll at Arkansas this summer. Many believed after a brief stint in prep school he would finally make his way to Bud Walton Arena, but it appears that's not going to happen.
Arkansas eventually signed senior transfer Willy Kouassi and freshman "Doobie" Jenkins to give the team a boost in the frontcourt this season. This also means Kapita won't be taking a spot in Arkansas' 2016 class.
