Well now it's official. A day after announcing Jonathan Williams would miss "a significant period of time" with a foot injury, Bret Bielema announced today that Williams would indeed miss the entire 2015 regular season.
There is a chance Williams could return for a bowl game, but if not, he's likely played his last down of football for the Razorbacks.
Williams does have a redshirt year available to him, but Bielema stated he doesn't believe the injury would significantly effect Williams' NFL draft stock, and unless that takes a serious tumble, he expects Williams to turn pro. Williams was not ready to address the media Monday morning.
Williams has been a team leader and fan favorite his entire career in Fayetteville. It's impossible not to feel heartbroken for him.
As for the Hogs this season, Bielema said he expects freshman Rawleigh Williams III to contribute immediately to go along with Kody Walker and Alex Collins. Bielema said he thinks any of those three running backs could run for 1,000 yards with the team. Denzell Evans could also see game time as well. Collins will likely not see much contact for the rest of camp.
