The Razorbacks unveiled their non-conference basketball schedule on Monday. Many of the bigger games had already been announced but now we know the full slate. There are 13 games, so along with the 18 SEC games, means the team will play 31 games before the SEC Tournament.
Eight of Arkansas' non-conference games will be played in Bud Walton Arena. There are two true road games at Wake Forest and Dayton. There are two neutral site games against Georgia Tech and Villanova/Stanford at the Preseason NIT in Brooklyn. And the Razorbacks will continue their tradition of playing one game in North Little Rock. This year that team will be Mercer.
The biggest name coming to Fayetteville is Texas Tech as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge and that won't be until January 30th. It seems like a solid schedule in terms of playing both at home and elsewhere, and playing a few decent-named opponents. UA notes that six of them finished in the top 150 of the RPI last year. The only real drawback is that Bud Walton won't see any marquee non-conference games this year, but considering the expectations for this team, that's probably okay.
Here's the schedule. Bud Walton games in bold:
