Arkansas Razorbacks Preseason Practice Report - August 13 - Not Great, Bob!

Here's what we learned from Arkansas' seventh practice of August.

Seems like there's a couple of dud practices every August and apparently the Hogs went through one on Thursday.

The rough day may result in the team's first two-a-day tomorrow. Bielema said he didn't think they would be necessary this preseason but left himself the option to schedule one if warranted.

Needless to say, it has to be maddening for the coaches to have to deal with any sort of discipline issues out of Collins and Robinson, who've both earned spots in the doghouse at various points in their Hog tenure. Since they actually were there at practice, hopefully this was a very minor thing.

Damon Mitchell finally explains what all went into his position switch last year and the possibility of him moving to safety:

"I went to Coach B before the spring (2014) even started and I said, 'Whatever we need desperately I will go be.' He was like we need you at receiver and we feel you can help there. So I went there and I told him if you are still short at safety I will go to the other side of the ball. It doesn't matter to me I just want to help my boys win football games."

From the UA report:

True freshman Ryan Pulley made several impressive plays this afternoon as he continues to impress in fall camp. The defensive back from Fort Myers, Fla. jumped a sideline route for an interception in one drill. In a "move the ball" period, Pulley made an excellent pass breakup on a crossing route on fourth down to end the series.

"He’s a guy that’s jumped out from day one. He’s got those long arms, is very aggressive and has great feel for the ball," said Coach Bielema during a media session last week.
