@RazorbackBSB

After three weeks of not just a whole lot going on in Fayetteville, last week was crazy, then got a little crazier as Arkansas took down No. 1 Texas A&M just when it looked like the team might get swept out of College Station. But Dave Van Horn's team fought back, handed TAMU its first series loss of the season and found its way back into the top 25. A few weeks back I went on the radio to talk Hog baseball, and was a bit skeptical it could turn the season around but didn't rule anything out because of DVH. Arkansas isn't leaving 10+ runners on base like it did early in the season, and the pitching staff is beginning to come around. I think the Hogs are firmly planted in the postseason now, but they can't afford a slip up to end the season against a pretty mediocre remaining schedule.

5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. No, I'm not trying to describe myself – that's the stature of the NCAA home run leader, Andrew Benintendi. He's pretty good at smashing the hell out of baseballs and getting on base to make things happen for the rest of the Arkansas lineup. Benintendi's power surge has stemmed from gaining 15-20 pounds in the offseason, but he doesn't consider himself a power hitter – which I believe as well. He's just one of the best at getting the barrel of the bat on the ball. He's by far and away been Arkansas' best player this season, and is going to be a nice addition to someone's farm system next year.

Brandon Allen is going to be Arkansas' starting quarterback in the fall. Brandon Allen is going to be Arkansas' starting quarterback in the fall. Brandon Allen is going to be Arkansas' starting quarterback in the fall. Brandon Allen is going to be Arkansas' starting quarterback in the fall. Do we all understand now? Hope so, because the race for backup quarterback is heating up between Rafe Peavey and Austin Allen. That's the real topic of the spring, because I feel whoever isn't named 2nd string may not be with the program much longer. Just a hunch.

Here are some recruiting notes from today, as well.
