The Razorbacks have their quarterback for the 2016 recruiting class in Lafayette, Louisana's Cole Kelley.
Kelley committed to Arkansas while on an unofficial visit to Fayetteville this weekend, announcing it just following the Razorbacks' scrimmage.
He's a tall player at 6'7", which undoubtedly will remind Hog fans of Ryan Mallett, but as his highlight videos (below) indicate, Kelley is a much more mobile quarterback than Mallett was.
Rivals and Scout have not yet rated him but 247 has him listed as a 3*. He also held offers from Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Lafayette, Southern Miss, and others. He threw for 2,984 yards as a junior while completing 187/310 attempts (60.3%). 31 of those passes went for touchdowns and nine were interceptions.
Arkansas' quarterback depth chart is pretty solid with Austin Allen, Rafe Peavey, and Ty Storey all looking to compete for the starting job when Brandon Allen departs after this season. It will be interesting to see how Kelley fits into that list.
