19-15, 6-7

Trey Killian had not recorded a win in 325 days, but his efforts were finally rewarded on Friday in front of 5,442 fans.

The righthander from Mountain Home toiled for six innings, and surrendered only one run on six hits, which was a solo home run in the second inning from Kentucky's Dorian Hairston, as the Hogs took the opener of the three-game set.
Andrew Benintendi hit his 12th and 13th home runs of the season, giving him the NCAA lead at night's end.

The school record for home runs in a season is 24 by Ryan Lundquist, who set it in 1997 in the second year of Baum Stadium's existence.

Zach Jackson came on in relief of Killian and worked the final three frames for the save, his fourth of the year.
After Hairston had tied the game in the second, Michael Bernal gave the Hogs back the lead with a RBI single up the middle to make it 2-1.

Rick Nomura raced home later in the inning on a passed ball to give Arkansas a 3-1 lead, and two innings later, Clark Eagan drove Nomura in for a 4-1 advantage.

Kentucky would get two back in the seventh on Jackson before Benintendi crushed one over the bullpen in right to set the final score.

Arkansas will go for the series win tomorrow at 6:05 as Dominic Taccolini toes the rubber against UK's Dustin Beggs.
