Smith was one of two Arkansas commitments that were once committed to another SEC school. Yes, it was Vanderbilt, but it still counts all the same.
He was Arkansas' fifth and final commit on the defensive line. That position was left a little more depleted with the departure of Flowers and Philon, so Bret Bielema made it a priority to replace them and then some during this class.
Smith had offers from UCF, Mizzou, Vanderbilt, North Carolina amongst many mid-major and FCS schools. He took two of his five official visits. One to Vandy, and then Arkansas the following weekend. He then flipped to the Razorbacks.
