Spread

Arkansas is currently listed at (-14) with an O/U (46).  Remember this is Missouri’s last regular season game with Gary Pinkel as their head coach after announcing he’s stepping down with a cancer diagnosis.  With a 5-6 record they’re also fighting for a bowl berth so the Tigers have a lot to play for this week.  Look at the Tiger’s side of the number and with the Hogs defensive woes the over looks like the play here as well.

Weather

Not pretty.  High of 51, Low of 35 on Friday with a 100% chance of rain during the game.

Notes

As I mentioned earlier, the Tigers have quite a bit to play for with this being Gary Pinkel’s last game as Head Coach at Missouri if they can't win and secure bowl eligibility.  Arkansas had better be prepared. On the defensive side of the ball, the Hogs must make some adjustments from last week’s "whatever" in order to keep from being the home team watching the visitors carry their coach off the field on Senior Day.  It should help that Missouri is incompetent on offense, failing to reach double digit points in five games this season.

In addition to any coach being carried off the field (God bless our players if they attempt a BERT carry), the winner of this game will be carrying a new trophy off the field as well. The Battle Line Trophy was unveiled this week and guess what?  It’s in the shape of states! It's like the boot but with Missouri instead of Louisiana, and instead of a big sheet of 24K gold, it's silver and hollow. Which seems completely appropriate, if you think about it. [Note from Doc: I mentioned this in the comment section on that trophy post, but we all really missed the boat on failing to come up with the Huck Finn's Raft trophy. It could have been great.]

Final note:  I don’t expect anything less after the last few weeks, but when Brandon Allen is announced on Senior Day pregame every fan in red better get really really loud for that young man and the guts he’s left on the field for this team, especially this season.  He’s more than earned it.

Players to watch: WR #2 Nate Brown, DE #91 Charles Harris
