What's this? Sam Pittman and Bret Bielema draw a major offensive lineman from out of state to commit to Arkansas? We never see that around here.
Jalen Merrick of New Smyrna Beach, Florida has committed to Arkansas and will enroll for the spring semester.
Merrick is a 4* OL whose finalists were Arkansas, Florida, and Florida State. He also held offers from the Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Wisconsin and Miami and many more.
Merrick officially visited Arkansas the weekend of the Ole Miss game. Ever since he's been tweeting and retweeting positive messages for the Hogs, Gators, and Seminoles, leaving fans on the edge for the last month and a half.

This is another major steal for Arkansas. Sam Pittman has worked pagan witchcraft over the years and once again has pulled together another highly impressive offensive linemen class. This is his fourth commitment at that position, and all of them are 4* on at least one service. That is a feat that cannot be overlooked.
This commitment moves the Hogs up to 22nd nationally for the moment. Arkansas is a few points away from from the 20th-ranked class, but there's a bigger gap to #19.
Arkansas will likely take only one more offensive lineman as scholarships are getting thin early this year. The Razorbacks are scheduled to host 4* Toby Weathersby later this month for an official visit.
