Arkansas may have won three straight after its season opening loss at Auburn, but one thing still weighs heavily on this football team: its 13-game SEC losing skid. Arkansas has not won a conference game since Kentucky in 2012, back when Tyler Wilson was QB1 for Mr. Smile. Arkansas has received votes in polls the past few weeks, but Bielema says they've done nothing to deserve being ranked yet. Beating Texas A&M and snapping the losing skid in league play would be a great start.
Here are some more notes on the football team from the Arkansas News Bureau, including injury updates and Bielema not liking being the only unranked SEC West team.
The Razorbacks are making moves in the latest Team Speed Kills SEC Power Poll. The SEC is a hot mess at this point. South Carolina barely squeaks by Vanderbilt, MSU upsets LSU at home, Auburn was less than impressive at Kansas State, and Missouri does the inexplicable and loses at home to a Big Ten school. Decide for yourself if you believe the SEC's SB Nation blogs got this one right. It's only going to get more fun from here. Big time conference matchups are on the way, folks.
The Razorbacks have turned heads this season, and grabbed the attention of the national media for their dominant performances over the last few weeks, humiliating Texas Tech at home and Northern Illinois in Fayetteville. George Schroeder at USA Today explains what a promising time it is for Bret Bielema and the Arkansas football program. BERT may have been the man in charge of the 3-9 season, but it seems so long ago now. Bielema has the program on the up-and-up. Like 36,000 feet up. And this was written before the Hogs got a commitment from Will Gragg.
Complete Southwest Classic preview courtesy of the peeps at Bleacher Report. Two hot teams enter Jerry World with very powerful offenses. Should be a good time.
