Big Bubble Winner: It's hard to accurately describe how big the win at Kentucky is for the program, then to come back and not only hand Georgia a loss, but beat them up a little. Arkansas fans are starting to believe again. I wasn't around for a lot of the 90s magic, but I'd like to think I saw a little of it Saturday. The harassing defense, the highlight reel plays, the insanely loud crowd – it was fantastic. The Hogs made a statement to the nation last week and walked out ahead of the pack of teams on the bubble.
Coty Clarke – After a stellar week at the office, senior Coty Clarke has been named SEC Player of the Week. The senior averaged 17 points and five boards this week in two big wins and I'd like to think I had a little bit to do with that. Clarke has been terrific during Arkansas' stretch of seven wins in eight tries. I could go on and on and on about how Coty is THAT dude on this ball club, but I'll just redirect you to the column I wrote on him that was apparently the motivation behind his PotW performances.
Grading CMA – After the three week stretch Arkansas has had, winning seven of eight, you might think Mike Anderson would be getting some love from the Hog (message board) faithful. And he is a little bit. This is a thread from Hogville asking message boarders to grade CMA's season. There's a poll attached and it doesn't look good. But it is on the up and up. It's crazy to see how just a month ago lots of fans were questioning if Anderson is the right guy.
Swept – So technically, Arkansas didn't get swept by South Alabama at Baum Stadium, but they did get swept in Saturday's doubleheader. Yes, Arkansas lost two games on Saturday to a club that BATTED OUT OF ORDER IN FRIDAY'S GAME. Outside of Jalen Beeks on the mound, Arkansas needs to come up with answers. And the bats went cold again, similarly to last season at times. I'm concerned about the trip out West this week.
