Signing Day is coming...

Last weekend didn't see the program pick up any more commitments for the Class of 2014 - so far. However, according to multiple sources, it was a good weekend in Fayetteville. Bret Bielema and his staff made some headway towards signing many of the guys in town.

Consensus four-star linebacker Kenny Young out of perinneal powerhouse John Curtis Christian High School in New Orleans made his way to Arkansas for a mid-week visit. He was shown the passion of Hog fans early on when he was greeted by fans outside of the airport Calling the Hogs at 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Young was in College Station at A&M last weekend and has three more official visits scheduled: Oklahoma State, LSU, and UCLA.

Friend of the website Bud Elliot (SBNation's National Recruiting Analyst) told me this week that he could see Frank Ragnow, a 6-foot-6, 291-pound tackle prospect will be committing to Arkansas. Elliot said the numbers may not come out in Ragnow's favor at Florida State. Ragnow is considering Minnesota in addition to offers from Miami, Ohio State and Missouri.

Here's who is coming this weekend:

Undecided

S Joshua Liddell (6-0, 193)- Liddell is a former Arkansas State commit who appears to be leaning towards the Razorbacks. Georgia has shown some interest in the last week, but I still think the home state team (the one that wears Cardinal and White) will win his services, possibly soon. He took an official visit to Boise State last weekend

WR Kendrick Edwards (6-6, 205)- One thing we know about Bielema's recruiting: he goes after Miami. Here is another South Florida product with offers from Florida State, Miami, Louisville and Rutgers. Experts say it will come down to the Hogs and Scarlet Knights. Randy Shannon has visited him four times in the last six weeks. With his size and Arkansas' need for a big target, let's hope we beat Rutgers this time.

S Randy Ramsey (6-2, 205)- Yet another South Florida target being recruited by Randy Shannon. His lead recruiter was Charlie Partridge before Partridge's departure to Florida Atlantic. Ramsey took an official visit to N.C. State in the fall and next weekend will take a visit to Kentucky. If he commits, he will add size to a smaller defensive backfield.

DE Solomon Thomas (6-2, 278)- Could this be the 2014 class's Alex Collins? A five-star surprise? Thomas is a lineman out of Texas who has narrowed down his list to Arkansas, Stanford and UCLA. In an interview on ESPNU's Recruiting Nation yesterday, he reiterated the importance of academics in addition to the football program many times. He talked about how proud he was to even be accepted to a school like Stanford. Good news for Hog fans is Bielema can -- and I am sure will -- sell the SEC. Thomas will announce on National Signing Day at 8 a.m. on ESPNU.

Committed to Arkansas

K Cole Hedlund (5-10, 170)- Dipping down to the Lone Star State and stealing a top-flight kicker is impressive. Hedlund also has an offer from Texas A&M. He was named to the USA Today All-USA team and holds the national record for most career field goals. As I said last month, special teams have been a consistent strong point of Arkansas in the BCS era, and Hedlund appears he will help keep that strong tradition.

Committed Elsewhere

WR Jojo Robinson (6-0, 183)- Currently, he is a soft verbal commit to Florida State, which seems likely to change before Signing Day. Robinson is being recruited by the Hogs' Miami specialist Randy Shannon and played high school ball with current Razorback safety De'Andre Coley. Most of the recruiting analysts have Coley making the switch to Arkansas. He has offers from Auburn, TCU, Miami, and UCLA among others.
