Arkansas Razorbacks Internet Chatter: September 6, 2013

News, notes, and somewhat interesting stuff from around the internet.

As we head into the year's first Little Rock game, the topic of discussion at this week's TD Club meeting was future games in War Memorial Stadium, to which AD Jeff Long wasn't quite ready to speak about. As of Friday morning, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, thousands of tickets were still available for the Samford game. If fans hope to continue the Little Rock games, they might want to start by fill up the stadium, right?

Working with The Arkansas Traveler, I got the chance to go to a post-practice press conference last week and talk with some of the defensive players in the Fred Smith Center (which is SUPER NICE). Austin Jones, Braylon Mitchell, Rohan Gaines, and Eric Bennett were all available to speak with the media and talk to me a little bit about their views for this season. I also did a UA women's cross country preview for the Traveler if you're interested in that.

In non-football news, the University of Arkansas is adding on to "The Trough" in Bud Walton Arena for home basketball games. Something needed to be done about the student section in BWA, but I'm not sure what 200 extra seats is going to do exactly. I'd much rather the university move the whole student section out of the corner, but at least the new section is behind one of the baskets.

Saturday Down South has done SEC predictions for week 2 of the college football season. The only real question for me this week is if Arkansas can cover their 32 point spread. If you're betting on this one, don't you have to think twice about it? On one hand, I have the Hogs winning 45-6, but then again, 32 is a pretty big number cover. See SDS's prediction. Expect dominance Saturday. Hogs cover the spread.
