We are 39 days out from Arkansas football, and the struggle is real this year, folks. We’ve got a little over a month to go until kickoff, and I still haven’t gotten my hands on a copy of NCAA ’14. But I digress.
With 39 days to go, that means senior linebacker Jarrett Lake gets the ol’ Expats honor today. The 6-3 225 lb defender was a multi-talented utility player in his high school days in Jenks, Oklahoma, where he lined up at receiver and running back as well as his natural position in the defensive front seven.
Since his arrival on the Hill, he has contributed in each of his first 3 seasons on defense and on special teams, seeing action in 27 games. However, this year he is listed as the starting weakside linebacker on the post spring depth chart, so it appears we may be seeing more of him this year. It's always nice to see players work their way into the starting lineup their senior year.
The three year letterman should provide much needed experience this year for a young linebacker group under a new staff when they take the field in 39 days.
