Arkansas needed to sign a kicker in this class with Zack Hocker heading into his senior season, and it appears they can cross that off their to-do list with the commitment of Cole Hedlund.
The scholarship offer came after Hedlund participated in a camp in Fayetteville this weekend.
Hedlund also participated in the Kohl's Kicking Camp, a service that rated him a 5* kicker and the 4th best in the nation. Hedlund will also participate at their National Scholarship Camp in July, from which the kicking selections for the Under Armour and Semper Fidelis All-American are chosen. The service also ranks kickers for ESPN.
Jamie Kohl, the camp director and evaluator, said regarding Hedlund, "Cole is one of the most reliable high school kickers I've seen in the last couple of years. I love his ball-strike and his ability to tune out pressure and perform. He should be a weapon in the SEC."
Here's a pretty great video of Hedlund kicking at the camp

Hedlund is the 5th commitment for Arkansas' 2014 class. Arkansas was his only scholarship offer but was drawing interest from several schools.
