Now that we're within double digits, we're starting a countdown each day* to get us through the summer and on to kickoff.
*or at least most days. we'll see how it goes. There are holidays and what not through the summer that require grillin, drinkin, boatin, beachin, and other things that make typing difficult.
There is no current #99 on the Arkansas roster. It will likely be filled by a freshman in the fall. It was last worn by Lavunce Askew and, more memorably, by Keith Jackson Jr before him.
Askew had trouble consistently getting on the field throughout his career, but Jackson was a two-time All-SEC defensive tackle in 2005 and 2006. Jackson was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the 7th round of the 2007 Draft.
The highlight of his career was a legendary fat guy touchdown against Southeast Missouri State in 2006. The game was Arkansas' victory lap after winning at #2 Auburn the week before. The Razorbacks were up 14-0 when Jackson intercepted a trick pass, broke a pathetic tackle attempt by the usual quarterback, and rolled 69 yards for the touchdown. Arkansas went on to win 63-7.
99 DAYS TO GO!
