Dan Skipper Signs With Arkansas!

The Ralston Valley (CO.) mammoth offensive tackle is officially a Hog!

USA TODAY Sports

Name: Dan Skipper

Position: OT

Height: 6-10

Weight: 295 lb

Hometown/High School: Arvada, Col/Ralston Valley High School

They say you can’t coach size, and with prospects like Dan Skipper, you don’t have to. The 6-10, 295 lb mammoth of an offensive tackle signed with the Razorbacks after switching his commitment from Tennessee. Skipper helped pave the way for an offense that produced over 2,000 yards rushing as well as 2,000 yards passing, and received All-State honors as a senior.

Arkansas returns a number of experienced linemen, and it’s not every day you see a true freshman starting on the offensive line. Skipper will likely redshirt this upcoming season, but his future is very bright; not only does coach Bielema have a knack for producing road grating offensive lineman, he hired a pretty fantastic OL coach in Sam Pittman, who is undoubtedly licking his chops at the thought of developing Skipper.

Although the newest Hog commit casts a big shadow, don’t let his exterior fool you. Skipper was also in the show choir, and kept close to a 4.0 GPA. There’s a fascinating story on Skipper I the Denver Post (though written earlier in the year) that can be read here.
