Name: Austin Allen
Position: QB
Height: 6-1
Weight: 202 lb
Hometown/High School: Fayetteville, Ark/Fayetteville High School
He is a Fayetteville native and, as you know, has family ties to the Razorbacks; father, Bobby, has been an assistant coach for the Hogs for 16 years and brother, Brandon, saw action at just last season.
Allen, a 4 star recruit, took over as the Fayetteville quarterback when Brandon left after the 2011 season. He didn’t miss a beat, leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back state titles. As a senior he threw for 3,395 yards, 29 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. Allen was nominated the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year to cap off his impressive senior season.
Allen could be thrown into the quarterback competition come August, with Tyler Wilson gone, Brandon Allen was next in line to take the reins of the Arkansas offense. However, this won’t be the same Arkansas offense and the position could be wide open.
