Recruiting: Hogs Welcome 7 More Official Visits: January 25 - 27

It is the second of three big official visit weekends, and the Razorbacks will entertain some big-time uncommitted prospects, all of whom are from out of state.

Alex Collins, of Plantaton, FL, is a top running back prospect and is visiting this weekend.

By all accounts, last weekend was a great weekend of on-campus visits. The Razorbacks not only picked up commitments from Reeve Koehler and Sam Irwin-Hill, but North Little Rock's Altee Tenpenny said he had a good time and wants to go back home and talk with his parents before making his final decision on Feb. 6. Hunter Henry and Drew Morgan reaffirmed their pledges to the 2013 class, and many of the online recruiting services had Arkansas jump close to 20 spots in their rankings.

There will be more decisions come out of that class as we near National Signing Day. As for the here and now, there is a whole new crop of prospects visiting the Natural State, many of whom have the chance to come in as freshmen and make a difference. None of those visiting this weekend are from Arkansas.

According to sources, here are the program's visitors this weekend:

RB Alex Collins (5-foot-11, 207 pounds, 4.45 40-yard dash) Plantation, FL; South Plantation- The once-Miami Hurricane commit, Collins is ranked by some recruiting services as the top running back of the 2013 class and could easily move into the feature back role next season. One of the knocks on him is his size. To that I would ask those critics to remember coach Brett Bielema's last feature back. Some guy named Montee Ball, who is listed as only four pounds heavier than Collins. Ball is the NCAA's all-time career touchdown leader (83). If Tenpenny remains a solid Alabama commit, Collins becomes of the utmost importance for this class.

OT Denver Kirkland (6-5, 333, 5.63) Miami, FL; Booker T. Washington- While it seems this South Floridian's interest in Arkansas is waning, we all know how important just getting them on campus can be. Kirkland, the No. 5 offensive guard in 2013 according to Scout.com, has offers from most every program around, his favorites are all Florida schools according to 247sports.com. He was at Miami last weekend and South Florida the weekend prior.

OL Kenny Lacy (6-6, 270) Phoenix, AZ; Mountain Pointe- Lacy verbally committed three days after his visit to UCLA last year, but Arkansas is his last scheduled visit. Scout.com rates him as the country's 18-best offensive tackle. He also has offers from most of the nation's big programs. 247sports.com has Arkansas as the only other school left with any shot from swaying him from LA.

DT Ke'Tyrus Marks (6-2, 285) West Palm Beach, FL; Suncoast- Marks has not received much national attention yet, but if you watch any of his tape you have to be impressed by his first step. He was at Western Kentucky last week on an official visit if that tells you anything, and Florida Atlantic the week before. In addition to the aforementioned schools Marks has offers from Wake Forest and Northern Illinois.

OT Dwayne Johnson (6-6, 275) Houston, TX; Bellaire - Rivals.com reports Johnson having offers to Nebraska, Oklahoma, Purdue, Virginia, and others including Arkansas. Currently leaning toward Nebraska as he begins his visit to Fayetteville.

DB De'Andre Coley (6-1, 185) Miami, FL; Northwestern - Coley recently received an offer from Arkansas and is being recruited by Randy Shannon. He has a few other offers but it appears Coley may be one of those kids that the recruiting sites never made it around to see as there is little information on him.

ATH D.J. Dean (5-11, 185) Newton, Texas; Newton- Dean took an official visit last weekend to North Texas and after a weekend on The Hill, he will head to Waco for a weekend at Baylor. The Bears offered on Jan. 25, two days after Arkansas.

(Editor's Note: We did originally have 4 more visitors scheduled for this weekend, but as is commonplace in recruiting, a few recruits cancelled their visits and these are the seven players now believed to be coming in this weekend.)
