LSU's Brad Wing declared early for the NFL Draft. However, CBS' Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson can breathe a sigh of relief as they will still be able to make Australia-punter jokes. Sam Irwin-Hill, a native of Bendigo, Australia, is the Razorback's second commitment during the first big weekend of official visits, according to sources.
247sports.com has Irwin-Hill as the top punter prospect in the country. A top-flight punter is hopefully not the flashiest signing of a recruiting class, he no doubt can influence a game's outcome, especially if Brett Bielema sticks to his traditional run-based offense.
This past season at a San Francisco junior college, he punted 44 times, with an average of 46.1 yards per punt, a long of 77 yards, and downed 15 punts inside the opponents 15-yard line. Also, he had no punts blocked in 2012.
While he has no scheduled visits, Irwin-Hill has outstanding offers from Louisiana Tech, Miami, and Utah State.
You know how you might have gotten too far into recruiting? When your roommate finds you watching a juco punter's grainy highlight reel.

My first question to our new "Punter from Down Under" is whether or not he has any relation to a childhood hero, the late Steve Irwin AKA The Crocodile Hunter. If so, just imagine the word play available next season when Arkansas travels to Florida.
