You want to look forward to basketball? Sure, we all do! And despite an absolutely miserable day in Fayetteville, the Razorback basketball team picked up a commitment from Moses Kingsley, a 4*, top-60, 6'9" center originally from New Albany, Mississippi.
ESPN reports Kingsley held offers from Louisville, Memphis, Florida, Tennessee, and others.
Kingsley has been playing for the Arkansas Wings AAU team and joins 5* center Bobby Portis in this recruiting class. When the Hogs tip off in November 2013, they could feasibly feature a lineup of Mardracus Wade, Ky Madden, Hunter Mickelson, Marshawn Powell, Alandise Harris, Coty Clarke, Bobby Portis, Moses Kingsley, Ricky Scott, Michael Qualls, Fred Gulley, and more. That's pretty stout right there. And that's assuming B.J. Young leaves after this year.
Mike Anderson's certainly instituted plenty of reason for optimism in the basketball program. And after what's happened with the football team the past couple of weeks, it can't come soon enough.
Can't wait to get some energy back to Bud Walton Arena. Football is amazing, but basketball is my first love, having grown up in the era when football was an afterthought to Nolan Richardson's best teams. The atmosphere in Bud Walton for the Michigan game last year was truly special, and is something I'm hoping happens more frequently. Can't wait for the Syracuse game.
