NO! NO! NO! Yes it has been reported that Jon Gruden has been offered the Razorback coaching job, but please people do not get your hopes up that he will take it. Do I have sources? No. Do I hope he would accept it? Yes. Will he accept it? No. Coaching searches will drive a person crazy, We will probably hear about 3 more names and none of them will be hired. Then we will find out who the next coach is and everyone will be like "I didn't even know we were looking at him." The best thing for Hog fans to do it sit back relax and not get your hopes up; because most likely, it will not be your first choice. It pains me to link this article because I don't want to give false hope, but it is my duty to let you know what is going on in Razorback Nation. Roger Sherman, of SB Nation, has the latest on Gruden. I will say one more time. I strongly believe he will not be our next head coach, but I do hope I am wrong.
It is Golden Boot week for the Razorbacks. The Hogs play LSU this Friday. A matchup that has proven, in past years, that anything can happen. It has been a game with incredible endings. No Hog fan will ever forget Miracle on Markham 1 and 2. This year's game could let the Hogs finish a rough season on a bright note. This game will be the last game Hog fans will see Tyler Wilson and Cobi Hamilton, and other seniors dressed as Hogs. This will be the first time the two teams have met in Fayetteville since 1992. James Brown, of the Bleacher Report, has more on the game. If we win in dramatic fashion this year, we won't be able to call it the Miracle on Markham 3. What do you guys think it will be called? Razorback Road Redemption, maybe? Probably getting a little ahead of myself here, but if you have any good ideas let me know.
Remember that time the Razorbacks had that guy that made three-pointers from all over the court, then left? Yep Rotnei Clarke, well he made big news yesterday on an incredible game-winning shot for the Butler Bulldogs. I always liked Rotnei. He couldn't play defense very well, but he could make it rain from behind the arc. Satchel Price of SB Nation has the story of the game and video of Clarke's insane game winner. Good job Rotnei (golf clap).
Last week, an SEC team in the National Championship game seemed almost impossible. Today it looks very possible. Three of the top four teams in the BCS are from our beloved conference. Alabama has the inside track sitting at number two, and behind them are Georgia and Florida. How did this happen? I have no idea. Oregon and Kansas State both choked big time last weekend. Why can't the Hogs ever get this lucky? It's very frustrating. If we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all. Samuel Chi of SB Nation takes a look at the new BCS standings.
