Arkansas Razorbacks senior lineback Alonzo Highsmith will be out for the remainder of the season. In Saturday's 24-7 victory over the Auburn Tigers, he suffered a severe foot injury that included ligament damage, according to Razorbacks head coach John L. Smith.
At the time of the injury, Highsmith had recorded three total tackles, one solo, a sack and defended a pass. For the season, Highsmith had led the Razorbacks defense with 54 total tackles and two sacks. He will undergo surgery on Monday to repair the ligament damage.
In other Razorbacks news, linebacker/defensive end Tenarius Wright will undergo an MRI on Monday to examine his injured shoulder. Cornerback Tevin Mitchel has been cleared to return after having his gallbladder removed and sustaining a hit to the head. Defensive end Trey Flowers was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week after collecting 3.5 sacks against Auburn.
The Arkansas Razorbacks play the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Razorback Stadium with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.com.
