NCAA Denies Eligibility Waiver For Alandise Harris

Houston transfer had hoped to play this season. He will be eligible for the 2013-2014 season.

It was a dream worth dreaming. Alandise Harris, the Little Rock native and Central High alumni, was denied eligibility to play this season by the NCAA.

The Razorbacks and Harris had hoped for a waiver so that he would not have to sit this season, as is the norm per NCAA transfer rules. They'd hoped the appeal, which was filed as a family reason, would be enough to get the waiver.

Harris will be eligible for the 2013-2014 season, when he could be a huge help for the Hogs' front court along with will-be freshmen Bobby Portis and Moses Kingsley. During the Primetime at the Palace event earlier in October, Harris proved to be the sort of athletic, muscular big man the Razorbacks have sorely lacked in recent years.

He transferred to Arkansas after proving to be a very talented collegiate player at Houston last season, averaging 13.3 points and 6.4 rebounds.
