Rasputin Unveils His New Mexico Prediction. What's Yours?

predictions_crystal_ball_2

In anticipation of tomorrow's "battle" against New Mexico in da Rock, we asked Rasputin, our staff soothsayer and a seemingly ageless Russian immigrant, to offer his prediction for the game. Rasputin, who is rumored to have written and arranged the Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin" and to have produced several of the other tracks on their "Days of Future Passed" album, has been a rabid Razorback football fan since the program's debut in 1894. He brought us the following forecast after a three-day fast (save for a little peyote here and there) on his favorite Arkansas mountain.

The forecast is after the jump:

"Cold-hearted orb that rules the Petit Jean night,
To thee I ask, "Will Saturday bring Hog fans delight?"

The moon suddenly softens and says, "Consider it done.
When their spirited effort is over, the Hogs will have won."

And then breathtaking visions of a rout doth appear,
This is shaping up to be a fun start to the year!

But then I breathe deep a gathering gloom,
Alone I repair to my mountain-cabin room.

The ghost of my beloved little French girl - she's nowhere to be found,
My desperate cries for love are the room's only sound.

So many of those whom I've held dear - they're now gone and dead.
I guess it be up to the Hogs to clear the depression in my head.

The mighty, pig-emblazoned warriors of Arkansas - 52,
the honorable but overmatched warriors of New Mexico - 3."

Wow - those were quite the comments from Rasputin. Here's hoping the Hogs do everything they can in the season ahead to lift his spirits. Well, enough from him. What's your take on tomorrow's game? Vote in the poll below and pipe up in the comments thread.
