The Rock was the top grossing actor in 2013

No actor made more money this past year than The Rock, who had the most successful year of his entire career in 2013, both in WWE and Hollywood.

The Rock to star in "Not Without Hope"

The movie roles keep coming for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. According to Variety, he's signed on to play Nick Schuyler in Relativity’s adaptation of the best-selling memoir "Not Without Hope" about a group of shipwrecked football players. This will be a more serious, dramatic role for The Rock than his usual big budget action movie / kids comedy flick fare. A month ago, he was announced for the earthquake disaster movie San Andreas, which is scheduled to start filming next April. He's also set to host the reality show Wake Up Call for TNT in 2014. With the work piling up, it thus looks increasingly unlikely that The Rock will have a role at WWE's WrestleMania XXX.

The Rock kicking movie box office ass with F&F 6

The Rock may not have broken the pro wrestling pay-per-view buys record at WrestleMania 29, but the huge $122.2 million opening weekend of Fast & Furious 6 led to the biggest combined Memorial Day weekend box office in movie business history.

Forty-one years ago today The Rock's destiny began

Forty-one years ago today, a Rock was born in California. Some would go on to say it was simply "in his blood" to turn wrestler once his football career didn't pan out. And now he has become a household name.

WWE's annual shareholders meeting: a nightmare

The Rock teases on Twitter that he might have had his last match at WrestleMania 29

As you can see from this tweet, just a few days after his interview with Peter Rosenberg, The Rock has yet to have a change of heart and is still uncertain about whether he'll ever wrestle again. Personally, I think he will eventually decide to compete at WrestleMania 30 once he's fully healed up. A match with Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker would promise to be another special moment in The Rock's wrestling career. Moreover, due to the milestone anniversary nature of next year's event, once again the show is set to be bigger than ever.

The Rock responds to Michael Bay comments

Famed movie Director Michael Bay recently made comments that Dwayne Johnson should "grow up" and "stop wrestling 300-pound men" after The Rock was forced to miss promotional engagements for their collective effort Pain & Gain thanks to injuries suffered at WrestleMania 29 in his match with John Cena. That quote was picked up by countless outlets and taken quite seriously but Rock is passing it off as simply a joke, as you can see in the tweet above. Much ado about nothing?

The Rock unfairly criticised for WWE snub on Leno?

The latest complaints the backstage heat magnet Dwayne Johnson has drawn is that he failed to plug WWE in his recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. However, The Rock was likely told not to do so by his G.I. Joe: Retaliation paymasters.

Midweek Meltdown: A-roid-ant personality disorder

Hulk Holland is back and melting down the physiques of WWE superstars. Why strive to be big and muscular if it limits your ability to work while labeling you a roid head? That question and more pondered inside. Just bring it!

The Rock courting role in new Star Wars movies

Whilst promoting the launch of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson took the opportunity to throw down a grandstand challenge to Star Wars Episode VII director J.J. Abrams and toss his name into the hat for a starring role in the movie.
