The Razorbacks added to their secondary class with the commitment of Texas safety Micahh Smith. Smith was a late target for the Hogs, first coming onto Arkansas' recruiting scene a couple of weeks ago.
He was offered in Fayetteville while on his official visit this weekend. He is a 2-star recruit with offers from Texas State and a few others. He made 123 tackles in his senior season at Marshall and picked off three passes.
Arkansas is hoping for a strong close in the secondary. Smith is visiting this weekend along with JUCO All-American cornerback Joseph Putu while the Hogs await decisions from cornerback Kristian Fulton, safety Brandon Jones, and safety Calvin Bundage. The Razorbacks already have a pledge from Florida safety Deon Edwards.
Smith is Arkansas' 19th commitment for the class of 2016. The Hogs should receive up to seven more through Wednesday to fill the class.
