More accolades for Cornelius and Hollister. Nice to see Wilson is getting back into routine.

After following the last few spring practices, I'm never sure how to react to hearing about big plays. Yes, you want the offense to be able to break a few, but the Hogs' defense has been so suspect lately that it's always somewhat of a concern as well.

Lots of pass break-ups from DBs today: Just off top of head, W. Hines, T. That's more like it! I get more excited for good defensive plays, even if it means the passing game may still not be elite. I can live with pass break-ups from the DBs. It at least means they're in good position - which as we all know, has not always been the case.
"We've done a lot of good things offensively, we've done a lot of good things defensively at this point in time in practice," Coach Smith said. "You're going to win some reps, you're going to lose some other ones, but I like our attitude at this point in time. I think we're able to go back on things that we've already installed and recall those things and now try to polish them up and get them to where they need to be come fall."
The team is also getting ready for a public scrimmage on Saturday:
"I want to see how our guys react," Coach Smith said. "We're going to play football a little bit, see where they are from a football IQ standpoint. That's one thing that we've spent a lot of time on thus far this spring. We get a chance to play different downs and different distances and different situations and watch our guys play for the first time in a scrimmage-type setting."
