Arkansas State WR Ignites Arkansas-ASU Twitter War

Carlos McCants

Isn't Twitter just the best? Just another routine Thursday night can turn into something highly entertaining.

This is a tweet from Arkansas State senior wide receiver Carlos McCants obviously waking up Thursday morning to see the Razorbacks lackluster effort in College Station Wednesday night, ultimately igniting an unnecessary Arkansas-ASU argument. But it didn't end there.

The twitter spat blew up into something more after McCants repeatedly entertained responses he got to his tweet. The spat, which has lasted for most of the day and its still going on, recently just blew up after McCants called Arkansas a bottom-feeder. The back-and-forth between fans quickly turned to the players once Kiero Small, Robert Thomas, and Keon Hatcher were notified of McCants' comments via an Arkansas fan prompting both Small and Thomas to reply:

Let me just say that Kiero Small and Robert Thomas are not the dudes to be messing with. And Thomas used a hashtag we all should probably use more often.

#HeadAss

The Red Wolves receiver hauled in just one pass for 12 yards in 2013. So it may not have been the best idea on his part, considering Small and Thomas will likely have professional careers. The Twitter war is really just getting started. McCants brought up everything from the 2012 ULM game to AJ Turner's recent transfer to ASU.

Of course, the Hogs did their best to take the high road and get out the spat before it got uglier...

But McCants is still going at it last we checked. We'll see what happens.

Oh, the joys of the offseason! Long live the Arkansas-ASU debate!
