Name: Sam Irwin-Hill
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 210 lbs
Junior College: City College of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Actually From: Australia
I'm glad I'm writing this and not trying to say it out loud, because I don't have a good Australian accent. But there's much more to Sam Hill than being from Australia. He never played American Football until he joined a program called Prokick Australia and got his American kicking skills up enough that he could get scholarship offers in the US. Apparently his Academics actually put him at CCSF, but his kicking is what is bringing him to Arkansas.
Usually can't get too excited about punters or kickers, but Hocker and Breeding have been special players for Arkansas recently, and if games do go to a ground and pound type game, being able to flip the field with a great punt is a really great thing.
One other great thing about this guy is his ability to kick with either foot. Not that I really get excited when I see Arkansas perform a trick play, but if you want to put pressure on a defensive special teams unit, flipping directions at the last minute is just wicked.
OH and another thing, Australian Rules football guys are TOUGH. You don't want to mess with them, so if you see Sam Hill and he looks angry, you better walk the other way.
Woo Pig Sooie! Go Hogs!
