ESPN Names Arkansas v. A&M #12 College Football Game of 2011*; Will Re-Air July 13

Here you go, Aggies. Enjoy a nice solid vict-wait, no. We changed our minds. Triumph!

You know you want to relive this.

Arkansas' 2011 football season will be remembered for winning 11 games, the Cotton Bowl, and achieving the #3 ranking going into the last weekend of the regular season, but we're all kidding ourselves if there weren't a bunch of "Oh my God we'll be lucky to win the Music City Bowl!" moments. In week 3, the Hogs mailed in their 3rd cupcake game against Troy (it appeared later on that Bobby Petrino himself was a tad distracted that week), were embarrassed in Tuscaloosa the next week, and when the Hogs faced 14th ranked Texas A&M in Arlington for the 3rd Southwest Classic, Razorback fans spent halftime trying to get blackout drunk off the absinthe they brought home from the Sugar Bowl after Arkansas went to the locker rooms down 35-17.

But then, things began to change.

We'll spare you the whole recap here and let you watch the replay on ESPNU, but I will mention the fond memories of Jarius Wright somehow finding open spots in the middle of A&M's vaunted "let's let Jarius Wright get wide open in the middle of the field 30 yards away" defense, Broderick Green coming back from the knee injury he suffered in the spring to score the go-ahead touchdown, and Mike Sherman cowering in fear during the 4th quarter. Additionally, it meant the Aggies would not win a game against the SEC as a member of the Big 12 (their last victory came against LSU in 1995), and the SEC would remain undefeated in Cowboys Stadium (current record: 7-0).

And, again, this is the game that gave us this.

It will be replayed July 13th on ESPNU at 6:00 PM central time, midnight that night, and 9:00 AM July 14th.

*ESPNU has named the top 25 games of the 2011 season that aired on one of the ESPN networks, and are replaying them in a marathon over the next few weeks. This is the only Arkansas game we believe will be included on the list. Other SEC games include Mississippi State v. Auburn (#23), South Carolina v. Georgia (#20), Utah State v. Auburn (#17), LSU v. Alabama II (#15), and Michigan State v. Georgia (#8).
