We here at ArkansasExpats Inc. believe in generating positive energy for Saturday's showdown against Alabama. That's why I've spent the last few mornings walking barefoot over hot stones, and why John has spent the last few hours staring at a chamomile-scented candle while listening to his favorite Enya CD.
As part of our continuing effort to generate some good vibes, we present the following highlights from two of Arkansas' victories over the Crimson Tide. Follow me over the jump:
Clip No. 1: Arkansas 20, Alabama 19; Sept. 16, 1995; Tuscaloosa.
The footage below shows Barry Lunney's somewhat controversial game-winning touchdown pass to J.J. Meadors. Of course, our analysts are 100 percent convinced - beyond any sliver of a doubt - that the reception was legit. And if it wasn't, we aren't terribly inclined to feel bad for a program that has as many national championships as Alabama claims it has.
Clip No. 2: Arkansas 42, Alabama 6; Sept. 26, 1998; Fayetteville.
It was the fall of 1998, and baseballers Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were inspiring millions with their demonstration of how dedication to strength training and proper nutrition can benefit athletic performance. Also inspiring Arkansans during that time was the Razorbacks' 8-0 start to their season. The third victory in that winning streak was the above-mentioned romp over Alabama. The footage below is a little shaky - just pop a handful of Dramamines, though, and you should be fine.
What are some of your favorite memories of the Razorback-Crimson Tide rivalry?
